University – Knowledge Creation for a Holistic World – Of all the educational forums available in the modern times – primary/ secondary/high schools, colleges, workshops, conferences etc., – the “University” is accepted by modern day intellectuals as the principal forum in which dissemination of knowledge is a consequence of active creation of knowledge. Thus, a university aspiring to belong to the top tier cannot aim to just impart some “pre-existing” knowledge in a static manner. It must meet the challenge of, but also create for new contexts and new students, a dynamic framework within which knowledge is realized and imparted in a contemporarily relevant manner.
ISKCON is establishing Bhaktivedanta University, the world’s first university envisioned to be a global institution of learning centred on Indian Knowledge System (IKS). Bhaktivedanta University will be housed in the picturesque campus of ISKCON spread over 75 acres in Vrindavan (Mathura District). The campus will have facilities for holistic education of 2500+ students in areas such as Ayurveda, clinical psychology, consciousness studies, Sanskrit studies, yoga & meditation, natural farming, dairy farming, environment & climate, ethical management and cognitive matter. BU’s primary goal is to integrate IKS with modern science to address pressing global issues like climate change, mental health, food safety and security and science of cognitive matter.

School of Ayurveda and Integrative Health
The University will house a world-class Ayurveda Hospital - AYUSH approved - which will be equipped with all modern facilities available in general hospitals as well. School of Vedic Sciences
The school of Vedic Sciences will focus on connecting the Vedic knowledge with various fields of modern science towards imparting scientific education in various areas including: Life Sciences and Technology, Space Science, Elementary Particles, Mathematics & Logic, Cognitive Science

The School of Leadership Development will focus on imparting timeless principles of leadership, administration and self-development. Taking the clues from Chanakaya’s Artha Shastra, Mahabharata and Ramayana, this program will offer a blend of ancient wisdom and modern principles of leadership and management. Scenario of India Knowledge System (IKS) based education in India
India has a profound legacy of knowledge systems that encompass a wide array of disciplines, including but not limited to philosophy, science, technology, mathematics, arts, medicine, leadership, economics, sociology, and spirituality. These ancient systems of knowledge have been the cornerstone of our cultural and intellectual heritage for millennia. The National Education Policy 2020 clearly outlines the importance of including the Indian Knowledge System in the curriculum of secondary, higher secondary and university education. Many universities and Institutions have taken the lead in this respect and started incorporating the Indian Knowledge system in their curriculum by either offering only some courses on the Indian knowledge system or creating a centre for teaching courses and doing research on it. The prominent among such institutions are Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar, Indian Institute of Technology Mandi, Chanakya University, etc. However, no university exclusively works on the principles delineated in the knowledge systems of India. Thus, it is imperative that we create an institution dedicated to the holistic study and dissemination of these time-tested and knowledge systems.
